Information: Between 1836 and 1840 the Prussian statesman and philologist Karl Wilhelm Humboldt wrote the book Über die Kawisprache auf der Insel Jawa. Humboldt was one of the first who believed that a language mirrors the culture and mentality of its speakers and therefore needs to be studied from an historical and anthropological point of view.
