ideographic script
Type of script of which every character denotes a concrete or less concrete notion. Other than with a pure pictographic script, that only denotes concrete objects, the ideographic script can also represent abstract notions. A sign that could only mean ‘sun’ in a pictographic script, could also mean e.g. ‘warmth’ in an ideographic script.
